Digital menu board companies, compared
Why restaurants pick CrownTV for menu boards
Most menu board companies on page one of Google sell software. You still have to find screens, a mount, a media player and someone to hang it all level. CrownTV does all of it: screens, mounts, our own player, our own Dashboard and our own crews, on one contract since 2012.

How menu board vendors differ
| Compared | Software-only app | Local AV installer | CrownTV |
|---|---|---|---|
| Screens | You buy them | Whatever they stock | Commercial 4K, 500 nits; OH-series outdoors |
| Install | You hire someone | Their crew | Our insured crews, all 50 states |
| Software | Theirs, $8 to $30+ per screen per month | Often none, or resold | CrownTV Dashboard, $20 per screen per month after year one |
| Price shape | Monthly | Per job | From $2,950 per screen, all-in |
| Screen dies | Your problem | Service call | Monitoring alert; player swapped in 48 hours |
Fair warning: if you already have commercial screens and a handy manager, a software-only app is a reasonable, cheaper choice. Software-app prices from published plans as of 2026.
What we've done in food service
Pressed Juicery: five 43-inch menu screens per store and a 3,500-nit double-sided kiosk at Penn Station's Moynihan Train Hall, in a custom birch enclosure. The chain stopped printing menus.
Independent operators including Kaffe, Gourmet Deli and Pomegranate run on the same Dashboard as the chains. So does Hello Boba, with an outdoor menu screen on the side of its food truck.
CrownTV's OH-series drive-thru panels run in Minnesota winters and Phoenix summers.
Red flags when you shop
- A quote that doesn't list the mount, player or install as lines. They'll show up later.
- Consumer TVs offered for a kitchen wall. The warranty won't cover commercial use.
- "Unlimited" support with no named person or response time.
- Software price for year one only, with year two left blank.
- A drive-thru quote without a site survey.
Full prices are on our pricing page, and the install process is on menu board installation.
Common questions
Questions about CrownTV
Is CrownTV a local menu board company near me?
We're based at 433 Broadway in SoHo, New York, with offices in Miami Beach and Atascadero, California, and insured install crews in all 50 states. For New York City restaurants, our own team handles the install.
What should I ask any digital menu board company?
Who installs (their staff or a subcontractor), whether the screens are commercial or consumer, what the monthly software costs after year one, who you call when a screen goes dark at 7pm, and whether the quote includes the mount, player and design.
Do you only sell your own software?
We install with the CrownTV Dashboard, and it's what we support. If you're locked into another platform, ask us; installing screens for another CMS is scoped case by case.
Are you a certified women-owned business?
Yes. Crown Heights Communication, Inc. is a certified WBE with New York State (File ID 75148) and New York City (certificate MWCERT2026-549), both valid into 2031.
